Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Quizera collects, uses, stores, and shares information when people create accounts, build quizzes, administer assessments, take assessments, purchase services, or use AI-assisted features.
1. Overview
Quizera is a quiz and assessment platform. Users can create quizzes, generate questions with AI, create assessments, invite or share assessments with participants, collect attempts, review results, and use billing or account features.
This Policy applies to account holders, assessment creators, assessment participants, visitors, and others who interact with Quizera. Some information is provided directly by users, some is generated through use of the Service, and some is collected automatically for security, functionality, analytics, and platform operation.
2. Information We Collect
Account information
When you create or manage an account, we may collect information such as your name, email address, password-related authentication information, account status, email verification status, profile updates, session information, and account activity.
Quiz, assessment, and audience information
We collect and store content and settings you create or manage, including quiz titles, prompts, questions, answers, assessment names, descriptions, access settings, audience records, invite records, assessment codes, QR/share information, and related settings.
Assessment attempt information
When someone takes an assessment, we may collect and store attempt records, including answers, scores, timing, question progress, status, timestamps, participant tokens, IP address, and related attempt metadata.
Technical and security information
We may collect IP addresses, device/browser information, log data, rate-limit records, session identifiers, cookie information, fraud-prevention information, security events, and other technical information needed to operate and protect the Service.
Billing and transaction information
We collect records related to subscriptions, purchases, GC, invoices, checkout sessions, payment status, refunds, billing events, and subscription changes. Payment card details are processed by third-party payment providers such as Stripe.
Communications
We may collect support requests, email delivery events, email verification events, password reset events, billing communications, unsubscribe or suppression records, and other communications related to the Service.
3. Participant Information
Assessment participants may include account holders, authenticated users, audience-only users, or public participants who take an assessment without creating an account.
Public assessment participants may be able to continue anonymously or voluntarily provide a name and email address for identification. If a participant provides this information, it may be associated with the participant’s attempt and visible to the assessment creator.
Assessment creators are responsible for how they administer assessments and how they use, export, print, disclose, or otherwise process participant information outside of Quizera.
4. How We Use Information
We may use information to:
- provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Service;
- create and manage accounts, sessions, authentication, and email verification;
- create, store, share, administer, and score quizzes and assessments;
- display results, analytics, participant history, reports, and print-ready views;
- process purchases, subscriptions, invoices, refunds, and billing activity;
- provide AI-assisted quiz generation and related features;
- send transactional, security, billing, product, support, and service communications;
- monitor usage, performance, reliability, and product adoption;
- detect, prevent, investigate, and respond to fraud, abuse, spam, security issues, and policy violations;
- comply with legal obligations, enforce our Terms, and protect rights, safety, and integrity;
- develop aggregated, de-identified, or statistical insights about the Service.
5. AI Features
If you use AI-assisted features, prompts, quiz content, existing questions, generated questions, answers, validation data, and related metadata may be processed by AI service providers to generate or improve quiz content.
AI-generated content may be inaccurate or unsuitable for your intended use. Assessment creators are responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving AI-generated content before using it.
We may use AI-related usage information to operate, secure, debug, improve, and evaluate the Service, subject to this Policy and our Terms.
7. Payments
Payments are processed by third-party payment processors such as Stripe. We do not directly store full payment card numbers. Payment providers may collect payment method, billing, fraud-prevention, tax, and transaction information according to their own terms and privacy policies.
We store billing records needed to provide account history, subscriptions, GC balances, refunds, support, fraud prevention, accounting, legal compliance, and dispute resolution.
9. Communications and Marketing
We may send transactional and service-related communications, including account verification, password reset, security, billing, payment failure, subscription, assessment invite, support, and administrative messages.
We may also send product updates, onboarding messages, feature announcements, promotional messages, or other marketing communications where appropriate and consistent with applicable law. Marketing emails will include an unsubscribe method where required.
Opting out of marketing communications does not stop transactional, security, account, billing, or service-related communications.
10. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain assessment history, support account functionality, process billing, preserve platform integrity, detect abuse, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain backups, and operate the business.
Because assessments and attempts may involve multiple users, creators, participants, billing records, security records, and integrity concerns, deletion of one account may not remove all associated records from the Service.
We may deactivate, delete, anonymize, aggregate, or retain information depending on the type of information, legal requirements, operational needs, technical limitations, and the rights or legitimate interests of other users.
Users are responsible for maintaining copies, exports, PDFs, or printed records they consider important.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect the Service, such as authentication, email verification, rate limits, CSRF protections, access checks, secure cookies where applicable, payment-provider integrations, and monitoring for abuse.
No internet service, database, email system, AI provider, payment provider, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, error-free, or immune from data loss. You are responsible for maintaining copies of records that are important to you.
12. Children, Students, and School Use
Quizera is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information directly from children under 13 without appropriate authorization.
Teachers, schools, parents, organizations, and assessment creators are responsible for determining whether and how students or minors may use the Service, obtaining any required consent, using school-provided email addresses where appropriate, and complying with laws and policies that apply to their use.
If you believe a child provided information to Quizera in a way that requires review or deletion, contact us using the information below.
13. Privacy Requests
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, or other privacy-related actions regarding your personal information.
You may contact us to request account closure, data review, correction, deletion, or other privacy assistance. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
We may decline, limit, or modify a request where permitted by law, including where information must be retained for billing, fraud prevention, security, assessment integrity, legal compliance, dispute resolution, backups, or the rights and legitimate records of other users.
14. International Users
Quizera is operated from California, United States and primarily serves English-speaking users. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other locations where we or our service providers operate.
By using the Service, you understand that laws in those locations may differ from the laws where you live.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the Service, laws, providers, analytics, AI systems, billing features, or business operations change.
If changes are material, we may provide notice through the Service, by email, or by other reasonable means. The updated Policy will be effective when posted unless stated otherwise.
